Walking - fun for the whole family! Here you'll find breathtaking countryside, wide footpaths and attractive refreshment stops.

Pleasure-walkers will find lovely and easily accessible destinations just as well as enthusiastic hikers (Klafferkessel). All levels of walking tours are available from gentle to difficult. Plus the number of climbing trails, of which there are several levels of difficultly, is growing steadily.
In summer the Planai offers numerous walking opportunities - e.g. the panorama path around the Planai peak. A gentle alpine walk at 1,900 m and with fantastic views of the Dachsteein; this natural experience changes with the seasons. The panorama path is suitable for the whole family as well as pushchairs.
The Dachstein Tauern Region boasts a wide range of walks for families and enthusiastic walkers.

Walks around the Abenteuerhof
| Round the village* | | Left into the village, over the little wooden bridge to the fire station, follow the lane to the road, right towards Haus, at the stonemason's turn left over the bridge, then left to the tennis court, back onto the road and through the village back to the farm. |
| Kneipp cure (water treading) course* | Left into the village to the chapel, left along the road to the junction (Aich, Sonnberg), then left along the gravel road to the Kneipp course. Walking time approx. 1 hour |
| Water mill path* | Past the Kneipp course to the barrier. Over the bridge and turn left into the forest, follow the trail until you come to the water mills. Walking time approx. 1.5 hours |
| Gradenbach Waterfall* | Past the Kneipp course, following the road to the old hunter's house, then turn left and follow the forest trail to the waterfall. Without a pushchair you can follow the trail over the stream, continue along the forest trail, cross over a gravel road, left past the „Zellerl lake“. You then come back onto the original gravel road. Walking time approx. 1.5 hours |
| Enns path* | Along the village road towards Haus, right after the railway underpass, alongside the railway line to the suspension bridge, over the bridge, left, past the sports ground and back to Weißenbach. Walking time approx. 1 hour |
| Luser Waterfall | Along the village road towards Ramsau, after approx. 1km turn right at the hay barn and follow the meadow path. At the fork in the meadow path keep to the left until you come to the waterfall path. Walking time approx. 1.5 hours At the waterfall you can continue over the wooden bridge to the Gasthaus Burgstaller, walk past the lake and along the forest path or via the mountain farm „Rabinger“ (turn right at the first junction) back to the village. Walking time approx. 2 hours |
| Goasweg (circular path) | Along the village road to the right towards Ramsau as far as the last house, on the right hand side behind the last house head up the field path until it meets a forest path, turn right, stay on the forest path until the signpost, turn right along a trail, through the forest, then you come onto a gravel road and return to the village. Walking time approx. 1.5 hours |

Walks with car (half-day)
| Marmot Safari* | Not far from the Bachlalm a marmot colony has made its home, accessible along the – Filzmoos panorama road, just after the province border, Tip: Start off early in the morning. Don't forget your camera and their favourite food - carrots. |
Children's Nature Trail (part of the way can be walked with pushchair)
Under the guidance of "Kali the Ramsaurier“ children can playfully learn all about aspects of the environment and nature. 15 specially created stations are spread out over a 4 km long forest walk. Starting point, Ramsau, Obere Leiten; Walking time: approx. 3 hours
| Rohrmoos Fairy Tail path | Starting point is the Schwaigerhof in Rohrmoos. The path leads through a light forest past the witch's cottage to Snow White and Frau Holle, on further to the dragon and the Viking ship. Walking time approx. 2 hours |
| Wild Mushroom Nature Trail | From the car park of the Hochwurzen cable car valley station the wild mushroom nature trail winds its way through the forest. Large local mushrooms and chantarelles are on display to show you which ones are edible and which not. Walking time approx. 1.5 hours |
| Sonnenalm* | | On the Dachstein side of the Rittisberg in Ramsau. Circular walk past the Rösteralm and Halseralm to the Sonnenalm |
| Schwarzensee* | | On the Tauern side in the Sölk Valleys Nature Park. Drive by car to Kleinsölk and on to the Breitlahnhütte. Walk approx. 1 hour to the lake and to the Harmeralm. |
| Riesachsee* | Drive to Rohrmoos Untertal as far as the car park. Walk to the Alm and lake along the forest road (with pushchair) or past the waterfall along the new alpine trail "die Höll“, which demands a small portion of courage and a head for heights. In addition to a 50 m long rope bridge, 2 open footbridges and 15 steep tracks to overcome. Walking time approx. 1.5 hours |
| Styrian Bodensee Lake* | | Can be reached from Ruperting through the Seewig Valley along a toll road, short walk from the car park to the lake, walk around the lake or row around in a rowing boat. |
| Planai Circular Path* | From Schladming travel up on the gondola or by car (toll road) to the Planai and walk around the peak, past the wooden sculpture in the shape of a cross by a small lake. Walking time approx. 1 hour |
| Stoderzinken-Friedenskircherl | Drive to Gröbming- Winkel; along a toll-free road you come to Stoderzinken. After a short walk of about ½ hour you come to the picturesque chapel surrounded by fantastic mountain scenery and can enjoy fabulous views. To reach the peak you need approx. 1 hour. |
| Silberkar Gorge | | From the Loden Fabric factory Steiner (500 year history of loden making, interesting tour of the works) in Ramsau- Rössing, following the Silberkar stream, you come to the car park. After paying an entrance fee you can walk through the gorge. Over steps and stairs you can follow the rushing water to the small, deep corrie where there is a restaurant. |
| Spiegelsee Lake | Drive to Pichl-Preunegg, carry on along the toll-road to the Reiteralm and gently walk up - starting from the Eiskarhütte - to the Spiegelsee Lake. A wonderful walk for young and old. Walking time approx. 1 hour |
| Ursprungalm | You can reach the Preunegg Valley from Pichl and from Rohrmoos. At the end of the mountain road there is the picturesquely situated Urspungalm, from where you can walk onto the Giglach Lakes with Giglach hut in about an hour. |

Walks by car (whole-day)
| 3-Lakes hike | Three mountain lakes, the easily accessible Bodensee Lake, the Hüttensee Lake and the Obersee, are all situated in stages on the Tauern side. From the Bodensee Lake you walk over a steep trail to the Hans-Wödl-Hütte by the Hüttensee Lake and then continue onto the Obersee. Walking time approx. 2.5 hours |
| Gassel Lakes - Circular route | A row of little mountain lakes amidst breathtaking scenery. Circular route via the Gasselhöh´, Rippeteck, possibly Schober and the lakes back to the Eiskarhütte. Walking time with Schober approx. 4.5 hours |
| Glacier hike | A very special alpine experience. Travel up on the Dachstein Cable Car to the mountain station, hike over the Schladminger Glacier and the high alpine terrain "Am Stein“ or through the "Rosmarie Galleries“ to the Guttenberghaus and descent back down to Ramsau.
